Given:
7.8 G Of Benzene
To find:
Find the number Of Π Bonds Produced By Complete Combustion Of 7.8 G Of Benzene In Air.
Solution:
When the combustion of an organic compound consisting of hydrocarbon takes place, water and carbon dioxide gets produced.
The equation is given by, C₆H₆ → 6H₂O + 6CO₂
From given, we have,
7.8g/78mol.wt = 0.1 moles × 44 mol wt of CO₂ = 4.4 g of CO₂ is formed.
The moles of CO₂ = 6 × 4.4 g = 26.4 g of CO₂ is formed.
(6.022 × 10²³ × 26.4)/44 = 3.6132 × 10²³ is the no. of CO₂ molecules formed.
The number of CO₂ molecules formed is equal to the number of π bonds. Therefore, the number of π bonds produced are 3.6132 × 10²³.
