Number of joule in one calorie solved by dimension formula

AnujKokamkar: a food calorie (fcal) is actually a kilocalorie (1000 calories/Kcal)

1 Joule = 4.187 Joules

50 fcal X 1 Kcal/fcal X 1000 cal/kcal X 4.187 Joules/cal =
you do the calculation.

Remeber, dimensional analysis will give you the answer in the units you seek.

1 cal = 4.187 J

Calorie is heat required to increase temperature of 1 gm of water by 1 deg C.
H = m s t
1 cal = 1 * 4.18 * 1° C = 4.18 J
