The numbers written on the slips vary from 2 to 8.

The Sample space = {2,3,4,5,6,7,8}

n ( S) = 7

Now,

a) Probability of getting 7.

Number of favorable outcomes = 1

Total outcomes = 7

Therefore, Probability of getting 7  = \frac{1}{7}

b) Probability of getting a number greater than 7.

From the slips, Number greater than 7 = 8

So, Number of favorable outcomes = 1

Therefore, Probability of getting a number greater than 7 =  \frac{1}{7}

c) Probability of getting a number less than 7.

From the slips, Numbers less than 7 are 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Number of favorable outcomes = 5.

Therefore, Probability of getting a number less than 7  = \frac{5}{7}
