Let the two numbers be x and y .

Therefore ,

According to the conditions ,

x + y = 2

x = 2 - y ---(1)

xy = 10 ---(2)

substituting eq (1) in eq(2)

(2 - y ) y = 10

2y - y^2 = 10

2y^2 - 2y +10 = 0

y^2 - y + 5 =0

THERE ARE NO FACTORS POSSIBLE .

BECAUSE TRINOMIAL EQUATIONS CANNOT BE SOLVED .
