% error = change of value /actual value × 100

now,

1) ℅ error ={ (7.4 -7.6)/7.6} × 100
= -200/76
= -2.63 %

2) % error ={(97.8-99.4)/99.4}× 100
={(-1.6)/99.4} × 100
=-1600/994
=-1 .6 ℅

3) % error = {(320 -332)/332 }× 100
= {-12/332} ×100
= -1200/332
= -3.61 ℅

kvnmurty: should the values be mentioned as - 2.6% , - 1.6% ?
kvnmurty: - 3.6%
abhi178: yes !! you are right
abhi178: because , % error = ( experimental -actual)/actual × 100
abhi178: but here not mentioned sign

1. % error = (7.4-7.6)/7.6 * 100 = - 20/7.6 = -2.6%.   Magnitude = 2.6%

2. % error =  (97.8 - 99.4)/99.4  *100 = - 1.6%        Magnitude = 1.6%

3. % error = (320 - 332)/336 * 100 = - 3.6 %    Magnitude = 2.6%
