Given :

OP ⊥ AB

AB is a Chord

OP = 3 cm

AB = 8 cm

To Find :

OA Which is radius of the circle

Solution :

AP is a half of AB

AP = 8/2

AP = 4

We have a right triangle OAP

$OA^2 = OP^2 +AP^2$

$r^2 = 3^2 + 4^2$

⇒ 9 + 16

⇒ 25

r = $\sqrt{25}$

r = 5

Therefore , the radius of a Circle is 5 cm
