Squaring this, a+b+2ab=r2

So, ab is irrational,

if  ab is irrational ,  this can not be hold .

therefore ,if  ab is irrational, so is a−b is rational .

 

Since,(7−42)2=49−32−562=17−562

2 is irrational ,so is 17−562 and so is .(7−42)
