The mirror is CONCAVE MIRROR.

But why?

  • First of all, paraxial light rays originating from the object will travel through the focus after getting reflected from the mirror.

  • Secondly, the other light ray is \rm pa{s}sing through the pole of the mirror and will be reflected as per the laws of reflection.

Since the object is placed beyond the CENTRE OF CURVATURE of the mirror, the image characteristics will be :

  • Image will be formed inbetween Focus and Centre of Curvature.

  • Image will be real.

  • Image will be inverted.

  • Image will be diminished.

Refer to the attached diagram for the complete ray diagram.
