then,according to question

the marks obtained by karan will be=

x +10

and, the marks obtained by isha will be= x-5. ------------------------------(a)

now,

= x+x+10+x-5=170 (given)

= 3x+5=170

= 3x=170-5

= x=165/3

= x=55
