According sign convention ,

Object distance (u) = -4 cm

Focal length (f) = 5 cm

We know that , the mirror formula is given by

  \boxed{ \tt{\frac{1}{f}  =  \frac{1}{v}  +  \frac{1}{u} }}

Thus ,

1/5 = 1/v + (-1/4)

1/5 = 1/v - 1/4

1/v = 1/5 + 1/4

1/v = (4 + 5)/20

v = 20/9

v = 2.2 cm

Therefore , image distance = 2.2 cm
