 \underline {\underline{{\purple{ \sf Given }}}}

  • Mass = 8 kg
  • Force = 80 N

 \underline {\underline{{ \purple{\sf To \: Find }}}}

  • Acceleration

 \underline {\underline{{ \green{\sf Calculating \: Acceleration }}}}

Formula Used :-  \underline{\underline{\boxed{   \pink{\sf Force = Mass \times Acceleration}}}}

Substituting Values

☛ 80 = 8 × a

☛ 80 = 8a

☛ 8a = 80

 \sf a = \dfrac{80}{8}

☛ a = 10

Therefore, Acceleration is 10 m/s²

Question:

An object of 8 kg is pulled by a force of 80 N then what is the acceleration of the object ?

Solution:

 {\underline {\underline {\boxed {\rm {\orange { Given : }}}}}}

  • Mass of the object = 8kg

  • Force applied = 80N

 {\underline {\underline {\boxed {\rm {\orange { To \: Find : }}}}}}

  • Acceleration of the object

 {\underline {\underline {\boxed {\rm {\orange { Calculation : }}}}}}

We know,

 {\underline {\underline {\boxed {\bf {\purple { F= ma }}}}}}

Where,

  • F is force
  • m is mass
  • a is acceleration

But in this case we have to find acceleration, so from this above formula we can say that,

 {\underline {\underline {\boxed {\bf {\purple { Acceleration = \frac{Force}{mass} }}}}}}

Now, substituting values according to formula-

 \sf\blue { \longrightarrow Acceleration = \frac{\cancel {80}}{\cancel {8}} }

 \sf\blue { \longrightarrow Acceleration =  10m/s{}^{2}}

Therefore, acceleration of the object is \sf { 10m/s{}^{2} }

Additional Information-

Force

  • Force is the push or pull that can change the speed, direction or shape of a body.

  • The SI unit of force is Newton.

 {\underline {\underline {\boxed {\sf {\blue { 1N = 1kg \:m/s{}^{2} }}}}}}

  • C.G.S unit of force is dyne.

 {\underline {\underline {\boxed {\sf {\blue { 1N = {10}^{5} dyne}}}}}}

  • Mass is the intrinsic property of the matter.

  • The mass is the amount of the matter obtained and the material content of the body that always remain same.

  • Mass is a scalar quantity.

  • Si unit of mass is kg.
