The action of Dilute sulphuric acid on Zinc carbonate

Explanation:

Zinc carbonate

Its molecular formula is ZnCO₃

Dilute Sulphuric acid

Its formula is H₂SO₄

Reaction between zinc carbonate and dilute sulphuric acid

When we react Zinc carbonate with dilute sulphuric acid , it forms Zinc sulphate and water  and carbon dioxide .

The equation involved is :

ZnCO₃    +  H₂SO₄----> ZnSO₄  + CO₂ + H₂O

                                 ( Zinc sulphate )

Observation :

A gas is evolved which when passes through lime water , turns lime water milky due to formation of Calcium carbonate.
