There are two types of tissues :- simple as well as complex.

Explanation:

The epidermal cells are present in the outermost layer of stem. They are protective in nature.

The cortex is made of again two types of cells :- 1. collenchymatous or sclerenchymatous tissues , the tissues which have deposition of lignin , suberins and pectins at the corners and throughout the membrane respectively.  These cells have 2-3 layers below epidermis.

        2. The rest of cortex is made of simple parenchymatous cells.

The vascular bundles consist of xylem and phloem which is a type of complex tissue.

In between vascular bundles multicellular pith made of parenchymatous cells is present.
