In 1912 niels bohr put forward a structure of an atom the main postulates of the model are as follows,....

  1. nucleus is situated at the centre of an atom..
  2. the electrons in an atom revolve around the nucleus in certain fixed circular path
  3. these circular path are called orbits or shells
  4. each orbit has fixed energy
  5. the energy shells are numbered as k l m n
  6. as long as electron remain the particular shell it does not gain or lose energy.....
