Answer:

Below are my observations of an infant.

Explanation:

  • I observed that the infant kept flexing its hands and legs, this I realized was automatic from my studies since the infant cannot control its movement.
  • By placing a colorful picture a meter away, I noticed that the infant does not see it, but at ten inches and below, the infant can clearly see it.
  • The infant I observed crawled on its hands and knees, I also realized that it took a nap in the morning and afternoon and cried for meals at specific times.

Answer:

My observation of an infant supporting the characteristics of infancy period:

Infants are the little bundles of joy. Seeing the little and loving moments these bundles create give an insight in to the characteristics of the infancy period.

I observed an infant for a long time and found these matches with the characteristics of the infancy stage.

a) The infant kept flexing his hands and legs. So this is true that the movements are automatic because studies say that the infant cannot control its movement.

b) I placed a rainbow coloured cloth a meter away from the baby and saw that he didn’t notice it. When I placed the cloth ten inches away from him, he could see it very well and tried to catch it.

c) The baby crawled on its hands and knees as the features state.

d) I also observed that he took a nap in the morning and afternoon.

e) I also saw that he cried for meals at particular times.
