Hey friend,
Ants do communicate in different ways... they use -
1. Scent - ants release pheromones which has a peculiar smell and can only be detected by the other ants...
2. Touch - Antenna's of the ant help in their communication.. just by a touch
3. Body language - Ants can differentiate between the other ants by looking at their body language
4. Sound - Ants procure different sounds by scraping their legs on a washboard-like part of their body producing low resonance sound
Hope it helps!
