(b)you need to put 15 two times in the data so that new mode woulr be 15

Arranging the given data in ascending order, we get

8,15,15,16,16,16,17

(a) The observation 16 occurs most frequently 3 times in the data

∴ Mode =16

If we place 15 in the data, the mode will change as 15 already occurs two times.

Hence, 16,8 or 17 can be put in the data so that the mode will remain the same.

(b) The mode will be 15 if it occurs 4 times at least.

Hence, two more 15 should be put in the data to make the mode 15.

(c) 17 comes only once in the data and to be the mode it should occur at least 4 times.

Therefore, 17 should be put in the data at least 3 times to change the mode to 17.
