Answer:

No we can't.

Explanation:

(1) Octopus is an exclusively aquatic animal while frog is an amphibian and cockroach is not aquatic.

(2) Octopus is radially symmetrical while the other two are laterally symmetrical.

(3)Octopus is less complex animal than other two.

Answer:

No, octopuses, cockroaches, and frogs cannot be grouped together to establish a common evolutionary history even if all of them have eyes.

Explanation:

Octopuses, frogs, and cockroaches are totally different types of organisms. The presence of normal morphological structures such as eyes or limbs doesn't make them similar.

  • Octopus is a molluscan organism that dwells its life completely under the waters. Frogs are amphibians whereas cockroaches are terrestrial in nature.
  • Octopuses have six legs, cockroaches have six limbs, and frogs have four.
  • Symmetrically octopus is radial and the other two are bilateral.

There are many more differences between the three groups of species.

A common origin can only occur when there are radiations in a few of the characteristics between the species. More than one character must be similar are either morphologically or anatomically. For example, the forelimbs of man and bird have a similar origin.

Thus, a common evolutionary origin cannot be established for octopus, cockroach, and frog.
