A ground is in the form of isosceles trapezium with parallel sides measuring 42 m and
36 m long. The distance between the parallel sides is 30 m. Find the cost of levelling
it at the rate of 135 per sq.m.​

Area of isosceles trapezium = h ( a + b) / 2

where h - height of isosceles trapezium - 30 m

a = Parallel Side 1 - 42 cm = 42 m

b = Parallel Side 2 - 36 cm = 36 m

Area of isosceles trapezium = 30 x (42 + 36) / 2

Area of isosceles trapezium = 30 x 78 / 2

Area of isosceles trapezium = 117 sq.m

Cost of leveling = 135 x 117 = Rs. 15795
