Let's take 100 g of both oxides.

In first oxide -

Oxygen = 100 × 22/100 = 22 g

Iron = 100 - 22 = 78 g

Iron/oxygen = 78/22

In second oxide -

Oxygen = 100 × 30/100 = 30 g

Iron = 100 - 30 = 70 g

Iron/oxygen = 70/30

Therefore, ratio of weight of iron that combines with same mass of oxygen will be (78/22) / (70/30) = 3 : 2.
