Offsets are asexually produced daughter plants produced on the mother plant. They are genetically identical to their parent plant. this happens when the meristem region of the plant differentiate into a new plant with capability of self-sustenance. Examples of plants that reproduce in this manner are lillies and tulips.

Offsets are produced by cell division that is, asexually. Offsets are the daughter plants and hence they are similar in chromosomal and DNA sequences with their parents.

By the single mother plant, offsets are produced naturally and asexually as the daughter plants. Although, in all genetical activities and variations, they are similar to their parents.
