Ohms law is obeyed by (C) metals at low temperature

Explaination:

  • If the physical condition of the conductors (length, temperature ,mechanical strain etc) remain same then the current flowing through the conductor is directly propotional to the potential difference across its two ends i.e I is directly proportional to V.

        thus V=IR

here R is proportionality constant known electric resistance

  • Ohm's law is not universal the substance which obeys  ohm's law are known ohmic substances  like metals at low temperature   .
  • Metals at high temp has high resistance and large voltage drop are not able to obey ohms law because it do not be good conductor any more.
  • while those substance which do not obey ohm's law are non -ohmic conductors such as semiconductors , gases, rectifier, transistors etc.
