Acid value ( AV) of oils or fats defines the presence of organic acids which when reacted to KOH it netralizes , and thus it specifies a parameter for oils and fats for their acidity , it is definedas the weight of KOH in milligramto neutralize the organic acids presentin 1 gram of oil or fat, indirectly it implies for free fatty acid present in the fat or oil, 0.2 acid value of the oil indicates its acid value is low and it needs very low amount of caustic/potash alkali , and ffa of the oil is of low value

hope this may help u
