On 21st March and 23rd September, daytime and nighttime are same all over the earth. But why do some parts experience summer and some parts winter on these days?

It is because of the simple reasons as seasons will be opposite on the two sides of the Equator.

It means that in the Northern Hemisphere it will be the season of fall and that is why it is called as the fall equinox.

In the Southern Hemisphere it will be the spring season and that is why it is known as the spring equinox.

But the day and night time will be same all throughout.
