Given, marked price of the item = 1750
percentage discount gives in the item = 8%
so, selling price of the item = marked price - discount
= 1750 - 8% of f 1750
= 1750 - (8 × 1750)/100
= 1610 Rs.

here, SP = 1610 , P = 15% then, C.P = ?.
use formula ,C.P=\frac{S.P\times100}{100+P}
= 1610 × 100/(100 + 15)
= 161000/115
= 1400 Rs.

hence, cost price of the item for the shopkeeper is 1400 Rs.

Hi,

Answer: Cost price is 1400 Rs

Solution:

A.T.Q Marked price of the Item is 1750 Rs

Shopkeeper give discount to customer : 8 %

8 % of 1750 = (8 x 1750)/100

= 14000/100

= 140 Rs.

So, Selling price of the item is = 1750 -140

= 1610 Rs

If SP is given and profit % is given, then cost price will be calculated as:

SP = 1610 Rs

Profit % = 15 %

Cost Price = ( 1610 x 100)/( 100+15)

= 161000/115

= 1400 Rs

So, the cost price of that item is 1400 Rs.

Hope it helps you.
