On a straight road, A is moving towards north with a velocity 2 m/s and B is moving towards south with a velocity 5 m/s. What is the relative velocity of (i) A w.r.t. B, and (ii) B w.r.t. A?

relative velocity of

(i) AwrtB= v(A) -v(B)

here v(A) and v(B) are vectors

but the direction of north and south is opposite so we have to assume that the direction towards north is postive and direction towards south is negative

relative veloxity will be = 2-(-5)=7 ms-1

lly, (ii) B wrt A= -5-2= -7ms-1
