On an average, each page contains 28 lines to fill some content in a book containing 300 pages. How many lines should a page contain if the same content has to be filled in 280 pages?​

Answer:

Number of pages and lines are in inverse proportion.

Let the number of pages contain if the same content has to be filled in 280 pages be x.

So

28 \times 300 = x \times 280 \\  \\ x =  \frac{ \cancel{28} \times  \cancel{300}  \:  \: ^{30} }{ \cancel{280} \:  \: ^{ \cancel{10}} }

Hence 30 lines is the answer
