on dividing a number by 126, the quotient is 15 and the reminder is 4. find the number

The number will be 8 i guess.
You are mistaken the number should be 124.

We know that,

a = b (q) + r.  [ Where a is the dividend, b - divisor , q - quotient, r - remainder]

Here,

b = 126 , q = 15,  r = 4.

a is the number that must be found,

Then,

a = 126(15) + 4.

   = 1890 + 4

   = 1894.

Therefore the number is 1894.
