On dividing a positive integer n by 9, we get 7 as a remainder. What will be the remainder if (3n-1) is divided by 9?

Solutions 

We know that dividing a positive integer n by 9, we get 7 as a remainder. 

n/9=7

n=7x9

n=63
 
so =(3x36-1)/9

=3x7-1

=21-1

=20
