On flowing a charge of 4 coulomb between two points of wire a potential difference of 16 V is develped then calculate the work done??​

Answer :

Charge flow in conductor = 4C

Pd across two point = 16V

We have to find magnitude of work done.

★ As the electrostatic force is a conservative force, so the work done in moving a unit positive charge from one point to another or the potential difference between two points does not depend on the path along which the test charge is moved.

Work done in moving a charge of magnitude q from one point to anther point having potential difference ∆V is given by

  • W = q × V

By substituting the given values,

➝ W = q × ∆V

➝ W = 4 × 16

W = 64 J

★ When a charge is shifted from one point to another point on an equipotential surface then work done against electrostatic force is zero.
