Let his original salary be 'x'.

Given that On increasing a man's salary by 12%, his salary increases by 2316.

= > 12% of x = 2316

= > 12x/100 = 2316

= > 12x = 2316 * 100

= > 12x = 231600

= > x = 19300.

Therefore, his original salary = 19300.

Hope it helps!

Let the salary be x

After 12% increase his salary would be

x + 12x/100 = (x + 2316)

(100x + 12x) = 100x +  231600

112x - 100x = 231600

12x = 231600

x = 231600/12

x = 19300
