In the poem On Killing A Tree, poet Gieve Patel has tried to show man's cruelty as they are actually not killing the tree but at different stages and by different means hurting the tree giving it pain.the poet therefore is saying that if you want to kill the tree than kill it but stop giving pain to it.....
