he suffers 8% loss it's mean

92%=736

then , 1%=736/92

so 108%= (736/92)×108 = 864

if the chair price is x
and it is sold for 736 at a loss of 8 %
x -  \frac{8}{100}  \times x = 736 \\ 92x = 7360 \\ x =  \frac{73600}{92}  \\  \ x= 800
to gain 8 % of profit
800 +  \frac{8}{100}  \times 800 = x \\ 800 + 8 \times 8 = x \\ 800 + 64 \\  = 864
the shopkeeper should sell the chair for Rs 864 to gain 8% of profit
