Let Cost be 'x'

we know that

Cost price + Cost price × profit Percentage = selling price

x + x×25%=10000

x + 25x/100 = 10000

x + 0.25x = 10000

1.25x = 10000

x = 10000/1.25 = 8000 = cost price
