Let marked price of the article = Rs 100

After discount of 12% is provided on that article,

Selling price = 100 - [\frac{12}{100}\times (100)=12]

                      = Rs 88

Profit made by Amar on Selling price= 20 %

Let cost price of the article = Rs x

x +\frac{20 x}{100}= 88 \\\\ \frac{120 x}{100}=88 \\\\ \frac{6 x}{5}=88\\\\ x= \frac{440}{6}=73.34Rs

Cost Price of the article = Rs 73.34

So, profit made by Amar when discount is not Provided = 100 - 73.34=   Rs 26.66
