2x+3y=18......(i)

x-2y=2....... (ii)

here you can multiply the equation (i) with1 and (ii) with 2

now

2x+3y=18

2x-4y=4

then

0+7y=14

7y =14

y = 14/2

y =7

now use the value of (y) in the equation (i)

2x+3y=18

2x+3(2)=18

2x+6=18

2x=18-6

2x=12

x=12/2

x=6
