On the basis of origin, resources are classified into:

  • Biotic Factors

All the living organisms are classified under Biotic Factors. The flora and fauna, fisheries,live stock and cattle.

  • Abiotic Factors

Biological non living materials and substances are termed as Abiotic Factors

E.g., Land,Water,Air etc.

Wood

  • Wood when a part of a living system like the bark of a tree is said to be Biotic

  • When the same wood is cut for use,it is classified under Abiotic

Resources can be clarified as Biotic and Aboitic on the basis of origin

Resources which are obtained from biosphere like forests,ailflife,livestock,humanbeings etc which have life are called biotic resources.

Resources which are obtained from nonliving things are called aboitic resources like gold, silver ,copper

Wood is a biotic where it comes from bark of tree is known as biotic
