God Helps Those Who Help Themselves

It is world famous maxim replete with practical truth and wisdom. God indeed helps those who help themselves. God has his own inexplicable ways to help the genuine people in need.

Deserving people whom God intends to help, He fills them with optimism. Optimism is God's surety provided to the righteous when they fight their uphill task of surmounting the mountains of difficulties. Optimism is seeing the silver lining behind every dark cloud. Optimism is the happy patience in the midst of an endless toil. Optimism gives you the courage to keep on carrying on. No despair can ever vanquish optimism. In the chapter ‘We are not afraid to die…’  God gave everyone optimism during the challenging time.

He helped the narrator and his family in the following ways:

1.     God guided the narrator at Cape Town in hiring skilled sailors Larry Vigil and Herb Seigler.

2.     God made the Wavewalker straight again when it was about to capsize.

3.     God gave them the spirit to fight with the stormy situation and the damage done to the boat.

4.     God did not let the large wave to hit the boat the second time.

5.     God made the extra electric pump work rightly.

6.     God helped the narrator to do the right calculations to find Ile Amsterdam.
