Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

on their housewarming, Shyam and Deepa received many gifts from their friends and relatives. one- third of them gifted sweets, 1/6 of them gifted furniture, 1/4 gifted clocks, and the remaining people gifted fruits.

To find:-

How many of their friends gave fruits as gift?

Solution:--

Let the total members are attended that party=X

Number of people who gifted sweets=1/3 rd of them=X/3

Number of people who gifted furniture =1/6 th of them=X/6

Number of people who gifted clocks=1/4th of them=X/4

Total number of people who gifted sweets,furniture and clocks=(X/3)+(X/6)+(X/4)

LCM of 3,6 and 4=12

=>(4X+2X+3X)/12

=>9X/12

=>3X/4

Remaining people=X-(3X/4)

=>(4X-3X)/4

=>X/4

=>(1/4)X

=>1/4 th of total people

Answer:-

Total number of people who gifted fruits=1/4th of them
