on treating aqueous alkali with aqueous halide we get alcohol and alkali halide
for example-C2H5Br +KOH---->C2H5OH+KBr

When we treat alkyl halide with aqueous alkali, we get ALCOHOL....

example?
Let an alkyl halide be ethyl bromide (C2H5Br) and an alkali be KOH
Reaction:

C2H5Br + KOH (aq) ------> C2H5OH + KBr.
