Plants can be classified on the basis of following characteristics:-
1) Differentiation of plant body into roots , stem nd leaves .
2) Presence and absence of vascular tissues (xylem and phloem).
3) Production of seeds ( whether seeds are produced or not ) .
4) Covering of seeds ( whether seed is naked or protected inside fruit ) .
5) Number of cotyledons in a seed
