The magnetic force acting on a change moving freely in a uniform magnetic field is equal to charge into the vector product of velocity and magnetic field vectors .

F = q(v×B)

The magnetic force will be minimum (F = 0) when the velocity vector is parallel to the magnetic field vector . Due to this the vector product (v×B) will be zero.
