There are more than 200 countries in the world. So we need some criteria to compare all these countrie's development.

The criteria of development are fixed by two organisation , the \bf {World \: Bank} and \bf {UNDP} .

The World Bank published the World development report in which it classified countries into the high income countries and low income countries. The World Bank use \bf {Per \: Capital \: Income} to compare different countries.

The criteria used by World Bank is narrow because it only use Per Capita Income to judge countries, and it doesn't include health , education, literary rate, medical facilities etc which are other important basic facilities of life.

The UNDP includes Per Capita Income , health condition, education system etc to compare different countries. It publish Human Development Report every year on the basis of Human Development Index. The criteria used by UNDP is more appropriate and broad.

According to the World Bank the countries with per capita income of \bf{ US $ 12, 736 } per annum or more is considered as high income countries and those countries having per capita income of \bf{US $ 1,045} or less are called low income countries.
