on what pertext did the conspirators kill ceasar?

Brutus didn't intend to kill Caesar first until Cassius and the other conspirators forced him to do so. They did so to end Caesar's ambition even though he was not ambitious at all. They thought that someday his rule would end up as dictatorship and all the people would become his slave and so the conspirators urged Brutus to kill Caesar. Hope it Helps!!
