Soil needs to have the adequate amount of water for the correct growth of a plant . If the water is less in soil , then the plant may wither and die .

The minimum temperature for germination of cereal crop is 40°c and preferred temperature is 20°c,soil temperature affect plant growth indirectly by affecting water and nutrient uptate as well as root growth,at a constant moisture content,a decrease in temperature result in a decrease in water and nutrient uptate
