Question

Once I say to someone " I was in hurry "
She said " it should be I am in a hurry "
please explain

when you speak something you must speak in present tense. when you speak of something going in present you never use past tense. like you will not say, how was you? when you ask someone of their present status ,you will ask how are you? the same applies here also.
