once there lived a boar in the forest of North America. he was very lovely. he enjoyed doing things all alone. he trusted racing wildly about the forest. but he was most unlucky. the first tree he changed into made a gash in his hide, while the next knocked out of his tusks. in such circumstances, what could a stout fellow do but lose his temper? so the angry boar declared that the whole forest was his enemy. he attended every single tree, charging head on, hurling his weight on them, beting and kicting. his eyes flashed fire and the whole hillside quaked at the sound of his below, as if a real war was being waged. however, to his dismay, he was wounded all over and utterly defeated. but unfortunately to let it go at that, he felt that he had to shatter at least one tree top to work off a little of his anger. with a bound he hurled himself into mid air, but unfortunately for him a nearby tree thrust out a bunch in swift mischief to jab him under the belly, and there the boar Hung unable to come down, hanging there for all the world like a lantern.
