One angle is equal to three times its supplement. Find the measure of each angle

SoluTion :-

Let one angle be x

The other angle = 3x

∵ Supplementary angles = 180°

\rm {\therefore x + 3x = 180^{o}}\\\\\\\rm {\Rightarrow 4x = 180^{o}}\\\\\\\rm {\Rightarrow x=\frac{180}{4}  }\\\\\\\rm {\Rightarrow x = 45^{o}}\\\\\\\\\\\sf {1st \ angle = 45^{o}}\\\\\\\sf {2nd \ angle = 180^{o}-45^{o}=135^{o}}

Verification :-

(45° × 3) + 45°

= 135° + 45°

= 180°
