⇒(Transposing 15 to RHS and LCM of 3 and 4

is 12)

(Multiplying by 12 on both sides)

⇒ 7x = 12x – 180 (Removing bracket)

⇒ 7x – 12x = -180 (Transposing 12x to LHS)

-5x = -180

⇒ x =(Transposing -5 to RHS)

x = 36

∴ The total number of deer in the herd is 36.
