Hi,

Let the number = x

One fourth of the number = x / 4

According to the problem given,

One fourth of a number increased by 7 and

the result is multiplied by 3 = 36

( x / 4 + 7 )3 = 36

x / 4 + 7 = 36 / 3

x / 4 + 7 = 12

x / 4 = 12 - 7

x / 4 = 5

x = 5 × 4

x = 20

Therefore,

Required number = x = 20

I hope this helps you.

Hi ,
let the no. be x .
One fourth of a number =(x/4)
increased by 7=(x/4+7)
The result is multiplied by 3=36
(x/4+7)3=366
x/4+7=36/3
x/4+7=12
x/4=12-7
x/4=5
x=5×4
x=20
Hence,the answer is 20.
